In The 39 Steps, we needed a sign for a scene where a character is trying to convince the audience to vote for a political candidate called McCorquodale.

I wanted this to be hand-painted and not printed, so I sketched out the letters on a large piece of fabric. It involved measuring the border of the banner and the distance between letters and words. When I finally had it all drawn out correctly, I put in some time filling in all of the letters and was left with this banner.
