For Witch, the director wanted a rolling flat for scenes when we are in the Witch’s Cottage.
I put together a flat that had a fireplace on the front to add some simple structure to the cottage. I painted the fireplace to look like stone that had been caked in ash from fires. I painted the wall to look like the straw clay that was used back in the 14th century to build cheap, humble cottages. After adding some props to the mantle and some firewood to the fireplace, the flat was done!
