TRANSFORMERS

In our version of Mean Girls, the talent show bit has a Transformers-themed act where two students whole dressed as Transformers, became cars onstage. I was tasked with making two transformer suits by the director.

I had to step into the role of costume designer for this by getting measurements of how wide and tall the actors would be in this crouched position. I used that to reverse engineer the different parts of this costume piece. Since I made them out of cardboard, it was a pretty forgiving process. The final product was a top, bottom, and middle half piece that were connected just via wire and tape. This made the costume flexible enough to be walked around in and, of course, transformable.
