DISAPPEARING FEAST

For The Tempest, we needed a disappearing feast, so the director and I came up with the idea of having the feast in a crate with a flipable lid. For this, I constructed a box to look like other crates in the set. I made the lid flipable by gluing a bolt from the lid to a freely moving circle piece that I inset into the trim on the right and left sides of the box.

For the feast, I sculpted a ham out of air-dry clay, painted it, and sprayed it with clear coat. I then used strong adhesives to glue it and some other food items to a tray on the underside of the lid. The result was this disappearing feast!
